In this case, pulling out all the bare bright copper is a good place to start. Right now, bare bright copper wires have the most value in the scrap metal world. These include insulated wire, THHN wire, and Romex wire. Bare bright copper is reddish in hue, unalloyed, and uncoated. Look for wires like these, but be sure to avoid tin-coated copper wires. Currently, bare bright ranges in price from $1.85 to $1.95 per pound.

#1 and #2 Copper

The second and third most valuable scrap metal on the market right now are #1 and #2 copper. There are a few differences between the two. Number one copper is entirely clean and has nothing on it. It is uncoated, unalloyed, un-insulated, and free of casings, soldered joints, impurities, and attachments. Number two copper is unclean, has all soldered joints and fittings still attached, and has its casings burnt off. It contains impurities like tin coating, paint, and more. Current prices for #1 copper ranges from $1.72 to $1.82 per pound, while #2 copper ranges in price from $1.55 to $1.70 per pound.

Indianapolis Scrap Metal Recycling

Indianapolis Metal Recyclers 317-244-0700

Call Zore’s Recycling at 317-244-0700 to get the most cash for your scrap copper wire in Indianapolis, Indiana.
