These experts believe that if we continue to mine and extract copper at our current rate that we can continue to do so for more than five million more years.  That\u2019s a lot of copper!<\/p>\n<h1>Fact #3<\/h1>\n<p>Copper is one of the most recyclable metals found and used on Earth. In fact, nearly one half of the copper consumed annually in the United States is derived from recyclable materials. Copper\u2019s recycle value is so great that premium-grade scrap metal has at least 95 percent of the original value of newly mined ore.  It is estimated that nearly 80 percent of the world\u2019s previously mined copper is still being used today.
